Nature Photography

I am a photo hobbyist with a specialty in landscape and nature photography, dedicating my craft to capturing the beauty of Florida's diverse ecosystems. My vision is strongly focused on the natural environment, with a particular fascination for wetlands dynamic and thriving hubs of biodiversity. My photography subjects predominantly include insects, arachnids, plants, and fungi such as lichens, as these intricate and often overlooked elements of nature tell captivating stories. I have an undying interest in documenting endemic insect species, exclusively native to Florida. One of my most thrilling encounters was with Florida Carpenter Ants (Camponotus floridanus), which became the first endemic species I photographed. This experience inspired me to continue searching for unique species and moments that illustrate Florida's rich nature. I hope to inspire others to connect with nature and contribute to preserving the wild beauty of Tampa and beyond. In the future, I am interested to learn about aerial photography methods through drones and atmospheric weather balloons. My photography images are taken within the St. Petersburg-Tampa, Florida area. I will occasionally visit nature parks and recreation spots such as Jay B. Starkey Wilderness in New Port Richey, Florida. I do not have a preference whether to take photos during the day or night time. My favorite location to set photography practice is at the University of South Florida's Botanical Gardens. Florida’s nature offers endless inspiration for photographers, especially in Tampa, where wetland preserves, parks, and gardens provide abundant opportunities. Places like Lettuce Lake Park and Hillsborough River State Park allow for immersive exploration of wildlife and plant habitats, creating perfect settings for capturing scenes of serene beauty. Tampa's subtropical climate enriches the range of photographic subjects, from stunning mangroves to vibrant dragonflies basking in the sun. My commitment to nature photography in Tampa reflects my passion for preserving its ecosystems through visual storytelling, fostering a connection between people and the environment.
